What is the maximum temperature the Typhur InstaProbe Core can withstand? Is it suitable for baking or only for measuring the temperature of meat?
572 °F (299.9°C). The Typhur InstaProbe Core is applicable for a variety of cooking scenarios such as meat, candy-making, baking, deep frying etc.
What is the response time for the Typhur InstaProbe Core?
Full reading in 0.5 seconds (0.1 seconds time constant).
How do I clean the Typhur InstaProbe Core?
Clean with alcohol or a food-safe anti-bacterial wipe after each use, to avoid cross contamination. It is recommended to rinse the Typhur InstaProbe Core with running water quickly and efficiently to clean the device.
Can I put the Typhur InstaProbe Core in a dishwasher?
DO NOT place the Typhur InstaProbe Core inside a dishwasher, handwash only.
Can I leave the Typhur InstaProbe Core in the oven when I roast?
DO NOT leave the Typhur InstaProbe Core in the oven. Typhur InstaProbe Core is an instant read thermometer for hand-held use. If exposed to sustained temperatures over 122℉ (50°C), the plastic material could potentially melt.
How do I replace the battery?
Remove the battery cover with a standard screwdriver. Slide 2 AAA batteries into the slot.
Does the screen support reading in the dark?
Yes. The embedded LED screen displays clear readings under any lighting conditions.
Can the temperature scale be switched?
Yes. Press the [°F/°C] button on the side of the device to select the temperature scale.
How to calibrate the InstaProbe Core?
The device is equipped with a temperature calibration feature. In general, our probes maintain accuracy and seldom require recalibration. However, if you suspect a temperature discrepancy, you can recalibrate using the following steps:
1. Create ice cubes in the refrigerator using distilled or purified water.
2. Fill an insulated cup with the ice cubes and add a suitable amount of water—enough to cover the ice without excess.
3. Turn on the device, immerse the probe into the ice water, and stir continuously for 1 minute.
4. Wait for the temperature reading to stabilize. Calibration is unnecessary if the temperature is within the range of 31.5 °F to 32.5 °F. If the temperature falls outside the range of 28.4 °F to 35.6 °F, recalibration is not possible.
5. Simultaneously press and hold the °C/°F button and the LOCK button for 5 seconds. The display will flash ""CAL,"" indicating calibration mode. Upon completion, the display will flash ""Suc."" If ""Err"" appears on the screen, repeat the calibration process.
